As an Academy Sports Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting the Head of Academy Sport Science in various aspects aligned with the Club’s strategic objectives and the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of sports science within a professional football setting while working closely with Sports Science, Medical, and Coaching staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Academy Sport Science staff in delivering sport science services to U9-21 players during training and match days, both at home and away fixtures.
Help provide dedicated support to U9-21 players undergoing rehabilitation processes, ensuring they receive tailored sport science assistance.
Maintain accurate records of sport science information for each player's Performance Clock, adhering to EPPP guidelines.
Collaborate with the Head of Academy Sport Science to ensure all Academy players transitioning between squads or leaving the Club have comprehensive sport science player performance records.
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) activities to enhance your skills and knowledge relevant to the role
Assist in monitoring the progress of players and ensuring compliance with EPPP requirements, particularly in relation to National Testing initiatives.
