The LouCity/Racing Oldham Assistant Director works in close collaboration with the LouCity/Racing Oldham Director to implement and uphold the Academy’s curriculum across all teams. This role has primary oversight of the U8–U12 Oldham teams and plays a key role in the development and support of Academy staff. Reporting to the LouCity/Racing Oldham Director, the Assistant Director contributes to the continued growth and success of the Academy’s programs and business operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provides head coaching and assistant coaching responsibilities for multiple teams within the LouCity/Racing Oldham Academy.
- Responsible for staffing and training coaching staff at the Oldham County location.
- Coordinate & execute parent development seminars.
- Collaborates with U8-U10 Academy Director on affiliate member support.
- Provides consistent messaging with all coaches, players, and families on Louisville City FC and Racing FC playing style, systems of play, and philosophy across all age groups.
- Works directly with the Academy Director to implement playing philosophy.
- Works directly with the Academy Director on hiring and placement of coaches for Oldham County teams.
- Provides Coaching Education Sessions for the staff in the U8-U12.
- Assists with the management and direction of player tryout & registration process.
- Provides Academy Director and head coaches of all age groups with assistance managing team rostering.
- Organizes, tracks, and monitors evaluation & feedback processes, including player movement, Individual Development Plans, and end or mid-season evaluations.
- Works closely with the Academy Operations Director on scheduling coaches, teams & competition itinerary, as well as correct filing of team registrations for competitions.
- Develops & maintains professional relationships with any leagues that the Oldham County teams participate in to ensure requirements are being followed.
- Follows and demonstrates the PITCH model on a daily basis and encourages behavior aligns with those values across the organization.
- Other duties and projects assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the management of the LouCity/Racing Oldham contract coaching staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
- Minimum USSF ‘C’ license required. B License Preferred.
- Minimum 3 years working and/or playing experience.
- Previous coaching at the youth level is required.
Additional:
- Experience working with youth soccer teams, technical clinics, or camps required.
- Strong coaching knowledge at various levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, nights, and weekends.
- Demonstrates a positive, energetic, and pleasant demeanor when communicating with staff, players, and families.
- Exceptional organizational skills, reliability, and punctuality.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment comprehensive background check.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to walk significant distances, including up and down stairs, as required throughout the venue, as well as stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, climb, grasp, stretch, stoop, and reach above head in conjunction with tasks.
Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse weather conditions (i.e., heat, rain, cold, snow, wind).
SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time, salaried position. Due to the nature of the industry, candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
