Role Summary:
MillwallCommunityTrust(MCT)arelookingforcasualcoachestoorganise,plan,prepareand
deliver Football or sport sessions, on a casual basis. These sessions will be within either a
community or school setting.
From delivering football and multi sports coaching in schools and leisure centres, to
promoting healthy lifestyles in educational workshops,to working with gifted young players
in anacademy setting,this is an exciting role in a high performing department.
Suitablecandidateswillhaveexperienceofworkingwithchildrenandyoungpeopleand
havea minimum of a FA Level1/Introduction to football coaching qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver a variety of comprehensive football coaching activities in the local community
that are age appropriate, meet the needs of individuals and groups which are in
accordance to the MCT scheme of work.
• Be self-motivated, committed and reliable once assigned work.
• Work with individuals and/or groups from a range of abilities, age ranges and varying
backgrounds.
• Be responsible for the correct use and safe keeping of equipment. Ensure that the
facilities are checked before use and safe for practical participation.
• Build and support positive working partnerships with existing/new key partners to
receive continued funding for delivery of programmes.
• Maintain high standards of professional behaviour towards colleagues, young people
with whom we engage and the wider general public when working for and wearing MCT
kit.
• Develop professional and supportive relationships with all young people engaged in the
session.
• Undertake regular professional development days as set by Millwall Community Trust
(MCT) in order to continue own personal development.
• Have knowledge and experience of (or be willing to develop) working in diverse settings,
such as housing estates, youth clubs, leisure centres, public parks and open spaces,
schools and colleges.
• Undertake administrative tasks related to the sessions that including updating
registers, consent forms, risk assessment, incident and accident forms, writing case
studies that demonstrate impact of projects, and recording any outcomes and
accreditations achieved by participants using relevant monitoring and evaluation
systems.
• Have an up to date knowledge of, and adhere to, MCT policies and procedures, including
those relating to Safeguarding, Health and Safety and emergency procedures, including
those of venues where you may be based.
• Undertake other duties as required to ensure efficient delivery of MCT sessions.
Essential Requirements:
• Minimum FA Level 1 in Football Coaching or the new FA Introduction to Coaching award.
• Safeguarding Children & First Aid certificates.
• Must be confident in teaching football and Sport / PE sessions
• In date DBS issued in the past year.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum (PE)
• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people
Desired Requirements:
• Level 2 (UEFA C Licence) or above NGB (National Governing body) coaching
qualification in another sport.
• Proven track record of working with children and young people from a variety of
demographics.
• Understanding of and a commitment to health & safety, equal opportunities and data
protection policies and procedures.
• Understand the importance of and deliver best practice when working with hard-toreach young people.

• A positive ‘can do’ attitude, always looking for solutions to problems or issues.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with young people.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.
• Strong track record of punctuality and reliability.
• Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated to make a difference within the community.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to adapt to different age groups and
stakeholders.

Established in 1885, Millwall Football Club is one of the most famous football clubs in England. Currently competing in the EFL Championship, they play their home games at The Den, which is based in South Bermondsey, and has been the home of the Club since 1994.
