Manchester City is looking for a Venue Operations Executive to play a key role in delivering exceptional non-matchday events across the Etihad Campus. This is a highly visible, hands-on role at the heart of our venue operations, focused on ensuring every event runs safely, smoothly and to the highest standard — from arrival through to close-down.

 

You’ll be the on-the-ground point of contact for event organisers, internal teams and suppliers, taking ownership of the customer journey and responding confidently to what’s happening in real time. This is a fast-paced, people-focused role that blends planning, coordination and live event delivery, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being where the action is.

Your Impact

 

  1. Coordinate and deliver day-to-day non-matchday events and activations across the Etihad Campus.
  2. Act as the main on-site contact for event organisers on event days, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  3. Review event details using event management systems and work closely with Venue Planning and internal teams to finalise requirements.
  4. Brief and coordinate delivery teams including Security, Catering, Reception, Facilities, AV and cleaning partners.
  5. Oversee event set-ups, ensuring spaces are prepared correctly (layouts, signage, temperature, access, facilities).
  6. Walk customer journeys to ensure access routes, car parks, lifts and entry points are operational and welcoming.
  7. Meet and greet guests, delivering health & safety briefings including fire procedures and allergen information.
  8. Liaise with contractors to ensure all health & safety documentation and processes are in place.
  9. Complete event administration including schedules, documentation, stock control and system updates.
  10. Act as an event-day first aider where required.

 

What we are looking for

  • Experience in events, venue operations, hospitality or operational delivery.
  • Excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
  • Confidence taking ownership of tasks and making decisions on event days.
  • Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel, with experience of Teams and SharePoint.
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support event delivery.  
  • Desirable; Experience using event management systems (e.g. Priava, Momentus, Swoogo or similar) and an IOSH or health & safety qualification.
