Job Description

The Role

We’re looking for a commercially driven and analytically minded Senior Merchandiser to help shape and deliver our club’s merchandising strategy.

In this role, you’ll ensure we have the right product in the right place at the right time - maximising sales, margin and stock efficiency while enhancing the supporter experience and strengthening our club brand.

Working alongside Buying, Retail Operations, Ecommerce and Stores teams, you’ll lead planning, forecasting and trading activity across multiple categories, balancing short‑term performance needs with long‑term growth opportunities.

Who we are

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success – read more about our history, here.

Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We are committed to ensuring that our environments for children, young people and adults at risk remain safe and inclusive. We therefore require successful candidates to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks prior to starting their employment. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, a DBS will be either a basic, standard, or enhanced check.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead seasonal and in‑season planning - you’ll confidently manage sales, margins, intake and stock budgets across stores and online

  • Drive weekly trading performance - you will identify risks and opportunities, informing decisions on pricing, promotions and markdowns

  • Analyse product and channel performance - you’ll review trends and results, reporting actionable insights back to leadership

  • Manage stock levels and availability - you will oversee intake, phasing and distribution, ensuring optimal stock efficiency

  • Support range development - you’ll partner with Buying to build balanced, commercially strong ranges aligned to fan demand

  • Contribute to commercial strategy - you will support long‑term category and channel planning, including event‑led and exclusive ranges

  • Collaborate across retail teams - you’ll work closely with Retail, Ecommerce, Marketing and Operations to align plans and execution

  • Develop and mentor the team - you will coach merchandising colleagues and deputise for the Senior Merchandising Manager when required

What we are looking for

  • Experienced merchandiser - you bring experience in a Merchandising or Senior Merchandising role, preferably within a retail environment

  • Proven commercial acumen - you have a track record of successfully driving sales, increasing margins and managing stock effectively

  • Advanced analytical skills - you're confident analysing multi‑channel performance and you're able to use Excel at an expert level

  • Multi‑channel retail knowledge - you understand the nuances of multi-channel trading across physical stores and ecommerce platforms

  • Confident communicator - you can confidently influence senior stakeholders and you're able to present clear, data‑led recommendations

  • People leader - you hold experience managing and coaching high-performance merchandising teams

  • Calm and agile under pressure - you’re detail‑driven, collaborative and committed to delivering exceptional supporter experience

  • Industry familiarity - you ideally come with some experience in sports, licensed or fan‑led categories
