Job Description

To coach and develop young players aged between 5 to 8 years old, within AFC Bournemouth’s Pre-Academy Training Centre Programme. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and review coaching sessions in accordance with AFC Bournemouth Pre-Academy Coaching Framework, maximising individual player development of players in the U6 to U8 age groups.
  • Monitor and assess players within Pre-Academy Sessions / Fixtures and provide players with specific feedback each Training Block, in line with our Pre-Academy Player Progress Report Templates.  
  • Liaise with Pre-Academy Coordinator when players are ready for progression into AFC Bournemouth Academy at Under-9. 
  • Contribute to the recruitment process of players for Pre-Academy where appropriate. 
  • Attend continued professional development sessions organised by the Academy or other professional bodies. 
  • Attend seasonal safeguarding training as required by the Club. 
  • Adhere to all guidelines contained within the Club's Safeguarding Policy. 
  • Utilise the ‘MyConcern’ system to ‘recognise, respond, report and record’ any safeguarding incidents in a timely and detailed manner. 
  • As a casual worker you must adhere to the club’s safeguarding policies and procedures and are committed to our safeguarding values, creating a safe and positive environment for all those who interact with the club.  
  • Obligation to adhere to the club’s health and safety policy and procedures.  
  • Actively promote the club’s equality policies and practices to ensure a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for everyone engaged with the club.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential: 
  • UEFA C License / FA Level 2 (working towards). 
  • FA Safeguarding Children. 
  • EFAiF (Emergency First Aid in Football). 
  • Excellent Communication and Organisational Skills. 
  • Experience of coaching football to players between 5 to 8 years old.  
 
Desirable:
  • UEFA B License (working towards) 
  • Working within a professional football environment at youth level.
