Role Purpose
The Director of Technology Delivery will lead the ongoing maintenance, optimisation, and enhancement of our completed digital transformation assets, with a primary focus on Salesforce (including MuleSoft integration), our transformed web platforms, and related enterprise systems. This role emphasises people leadership in building high-performing teams, financial oversight to ensure cost-effective operations, stakeholder management to align technology with business needs, and business leadership to drive strategic improvements. The position is responsible for governing and assuring the quality, scalability, and security of these assets through effective management of outsourced vendors and internal teams, ensuring they continue to deliver value and support organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Delivery Leadership
- Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Salesforce platform, including MuleSoft integrations and connectivity with other enterprise systems.
- Manage the upkeep and enhancement of our web platforms, ensuring alignment with evolving business goals and technology strategies.
- Lead the ongoing implementation and optimisation of Okta for Customer Identity (Auth0), maintaining secure and efficient user access across platforms.
- Direct the data team and data platforms, promoting robust data governance, architecture, and best practices to support business intelligence and decision-making.
- Serve as the key technology assurance leader, ensuring outsourced vendors and internal teams uphold technical, security, and performance standards.
- Establish and enforce technology standards, architecture principles, and best practices for sustained operational excellence.
- Act as the primary escalation point for technical risks related to maintenance and improvements, collaborating with vendors and teams to resolve issues promptly.
People Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead cross-functional technology teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth
- Conduct performance reviews, talent development, and succession planning to ensure team capabilities align with organisational needs
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives within the technology delivery function
Financial Leadership
- Manage budgets for technology maintenance, vendor contracts, and improvement projects, optimising costs while maximising ROI
- Analyse financial performance of technology assets, identifying efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Oversee vendor negotiations and contract renewals to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with business priorities
Vendor and Partner Management
- Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors, enforcing contract terms and ensuring high-quality ongoing support and enhancements
- Perform regular technical audits and reviews to assess vendor performance, code quality, and adherence to standards
- Monitor and refine SLAs/KPIs to guarantee timely delivery of maintenance, updates, and improvements
- Provide governance and oversight for outsourced activities, focusing on long-term partnership value
Technical Assurance & Governance
- Own the comprehensive technical assurance for maintained systems, ensuring architectural stability, operational efficiency, and readiness for future needs
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and IT Operations to maintain seamless integrations and compliance with enterprise standards
- Uphold data integrity and adherence to regulatory, industry, and security standards
- Champion best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and performance monitoring to enhance system reliability
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build and maintain relationships with business leaders, product owners, and IT teams to ensure technology assets support strategic objectives.
- Deliver clear updates on system performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to drive informed decision-making and alignment
AI Strategy and Adoption
- Identify and deploy AI-driven opportunities that increase operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across business functions
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled tools across systems (including Salesforce, productivity suites, workflow automation platforms, and internal data tools)
Business Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Provide strategic guidance on how technology assets can enable business growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage
- Identify and implement process improvements in technology delivery, governance, and vendor management to support business evolution
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in Salesforce, MuleSoft, cloud platforms, and web frameworks to inform enhancement strategies

Person Specification
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce platform maintenance, optimisation, and integration strategies
- Expertise in MuleSoft for API-led connectivity and ongoing enterprise integrations
- Proven experience managing post-transformation web platforms, including modern front-end frameworks and cloud-native architectures
- Strong understanding of SSO authentication for secure, scalable solutions
- Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment models
- Solid knowledge of security best practices in SaaS and PaaS environments
Leadership & Management
- Demonstrated success in leading technology maintenance and improvement in an outsourced model, with a focus on people development and team building
- Experience in financial management, including budgeting, cost optimisation, and ROI analysis for technology operations
- Strong track record in stakeholder management and business leadership, influencing outcomes at executive levels
- Skilled in vendor management, technical assurance, and balancing technical excellence with business and financial priorities
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate across senior executives, technical teams, and business units
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Technical Architect, MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, AWS/Azure Certifications, or PMP) are advantageous
