Hours: Nominal 35-hour working week, including matchdays and nonmatchday events (evenings and weekends as required)


Role Purpose:

The Bar and Events Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of bar operations and
supporting the on-the-ground execution of events within the Nest. This role oversees day-to-day
bar management while playing a key role in supporting with the planning, coordination, and
delivery of match days, festivals, concerts, live screenings, community events, and private hires.

Working closely with the Event and Sales Manager, and Deputy Venue Manager the postholder
ensures that all events are operationally ready, commercially effective, and deliver an excellent
fan and guest experience. The role leads a team of casual staff, ensuring high standards of
service, compliance, safety, and presentation across all events.


Key Responsibilities

Event & Venue Delivery
• Support the planning and operational delivery of match days, concerts, festivals, live
screenings, and private hire events
• Act as a key operational lead on event days, ensuring timelines, layouts, staffing, and bar
provision are executed effectively
• Assist with event setup, breakdown, and changeovers, including bar layouts, equipment, and
stock positioning
• Coordinate with internal teams (operations, security, marketing, food & beverage) and
external suppliers to ensure seamless event delivery
• Identify opportunities to enhance the fan and guest experience through bar offerings, layouts,
and service style
• Support post-event reviews, feedback, and reporting to improve future events


Bar Operations Management

• Oversee all bar operations during events, including match days, festivals, concerts, live
events, and private hires
• Ensure smooth service delivery in high-volume, fast-paced environments
• Prepare bar setups before events and manage close-down procedures after events
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of all bar areas


Team Leadership & Staffing

• Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of casual bar and event staff
• Coordinate staffing rotas using the Human Force system to meet event demands
• Brief teams before events on service standards, event specifics, and safety requirements
• Provide on-the-job training and performance support
• Act as the main point of contact for bar and event staff during shifts


Customer & Fan Experience

• Deliver a welcoming, friendly, and professional service aligned with Notts County FC’s brand
• Create a vibrant, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere for fans and visitors
• Handle customer queries and complaints calmly and effectively
• Promote responsible alcohol service while maintaining a positive fan experience


Stock, Commercial & Cash Control

• Manage stock levels, ordering, and deliveries in collaboration with the Food and Beverage
team
• Plan stock requirements based on event size, audience profile, and trading patterns
• Monitor wastage and implement controls to minimise losses
• Ensure accurate cash handling, card payments, and end-of-event reconciliation
Compliance, Health & Safety
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, age verification policies, and responsible alcohol
service
• Uphold health & safety standards, including crowd management and emergency procedures
• Ensure all staff are briefed on event-specific risks and club policies
• Maintain a safe working environment for staff, performers, and guests


Communication & Collaboration

• Work closely with the Event and Sales Manager and Deputy Venue Manager on event planning
and delivery
• Liaise with operations, security, catering, and commercial teams to ensure coordinated
delivery
• Communicate staffing needs, operational issues, and performance feedback to senior
management


Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a bar supervisory, management, or event operations role
• Experience working in high-volume, event-led hospitality environments
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities during live events
• Confident handling cash, stock, and basic reporting
• Knowledge of licensing, crowd management, and health & safety regulations


Desirable

• Experience working in sports venues, fan zones, festivals, or large-scale events
• Experience supporting live events, concerts, or programmed entertainment
• Personal Licence Holder (or willingness to obtain)
