Position Summary:
As the Head Coach of the Nashville SC U15 Academy team, you will play a pivotal role in developing young talent within the club's youth academy. Reporting to the Academy Director, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive training program that furthers the growth and development of players within the U15 age group. Your leadership will be instrumental in implementing the club’s culture, curriculum and ultimately preparing the individual player(s) to progress on the NSC Player Pathway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Player Development - Produce homegrown talent for Nashville Soccer Club. Design and deliver age-appropriate training sessions focused on individual technical development, tactical understanding, and overall physical performance.
- Team Management - Select and manage the U15 squad, including player IDPs, roster decisions, and match-day tactics (under the guidance of club leadership)
- Curriculum Implementation - Follow the clubs structured curriculum that aligns with the club's philosophy and player development pathway, emphasizing technical proficiency, decision-making, and game understanding.
- Scouting and Recruitment - Collaborate with the scouting department to evaluate players that are on trial with the U14 & U15 squad.
- Academic Monitoring - Support the players' academic progress, ensuring a balance between their soccer development and educational commitments.
- Parent and Player Communication - Maintain open and transparent communication with players and their families, providing feedback, guidance, and support as needed. Prepare and Deliver the club’s players evaluation’s in a timely fashion with the Fall, Winter, Spring and final decision evaluation.
- Competition Preparation - Prepare the team for competitive fixtures, including opponent analysis, set pieces, and matchday tactics that align with the Clubs overall game model.
Qualifications:
- USSF A or B license, or equivalent coaching qualification.
- Proven experience coaching youth soccer at the elite level, preferably within a professional academy environment.
- Strong understanding of player development principles, including technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, including coaching staff, support staff, players, parents, and club leadership.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development, staying well-informed of the latest trends and methodologies in modern football.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for matches, tournaments, and scouting activities.
