Casual Early Years Football Coach (Community)

Job Description

Wigan Athletic Community Trust has an exciting new opportunity to join our football development team as a casual early years football coach.

The successful candidate will deliver across our Little Latics programme, with the opportunity to also deliver across various football development programmes.

The role will require the successful candidate to be confident in planning and delivering football development sessions for 2-5-year-olds, as well as the ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across a variety of football development programmes.

Salary: Hourly £15

Type of contract: Casual

You will:

  • Plan and deliver sessions on the Little Latics early years provision to participants aged 2-5 years.
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering Early Years provision for 2–5-year-olds.
  • Deliver content in line with the Wigan Athletic Community Trust 2–5-year-old curriculum.
  • Be accountable for the high quality of provision whilst on session
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, parents/carers and partners to retain attendance at sessions and maintain high levels of engagement within the programme.
  • Collect the required monitoring and consent information in line with the Community Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered safely, assessing and mitigating the risk presented at the session.

  • Able to use excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to create a fun and friendly environment for the children to feel happy and supported
  • Show an awareness of safeguarding issues when working with children and young people
  • Able to work well on your own and as part of a team
