About the Academy Performance Support Team

Chelsea FC’s Academy is one of the world’s most successful talent development environments and we are not standing still. Following a major performance restructure, we have created an integrated Academy Performance Support Team with a clear mission to recruit, develop and transition elite young players fully prepared for the demands of professional football.

The Opportunity at Chelsea FC

This is a unique chance to be part of that transformation and directly influence the development of the next generation of elite footballers. If you are motivated by pace, challenge and impact, this role delivers all three.

Why This Role Is Different

You will work with some of the most talented young players in world football, delivering performance led rehabilitation within a fully integrated multidisciplinary team. The role offers exposure to complex long term injury profiles, high level return to play decisions and the opportunity to shape how future first team players are physically prepared for Premier League football.

The Role

You will lead end to end rehabilitation, seamlessly bridging rehab and return to performance. Working closely with Performance Medicine and Performance Science, you will use screening, diagnostics, GPS and performance data to inform decision making, while communicating clearly with players, coaches, parents and key stakeholders. You will also contribute to the ongoing evolution of Academy rehabilitation practice.

Skills and Experience

You will be an HCPC registered physiotherapist with experience working with elite youth athletes and a strong understanding of growth, maturation and injury risk. You are confident delivering football specific rehabilitation in both the gym and on the pitch and are comfortable interpreting clinical and performance data under pressure.

Who you are

You are a rehabilitation specialist who views injury as an opportunity to develop better footballers. Curious, reflective and player focused, you hold yourself and others to the highest standards and never settle for good enough.

What we offer

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Pension Contribution (Perm & FT Employees 5%)
  • Private Health Insurance through Vitality
  • Life Assurance (4 x base salary)
  • Daily access to elite facilities, people and development opportunities

Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion:

At Chelsea we recognise that the diversity of our people is one of our greatest strengths and we are taking positive action to ensure our existing colleagues and job applicants can fully be themselves and bring their own unique experiences and perspectives to Chelsea FC. This means giving full and fair consideration to all applicants regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy and maternity.

If you need reasonable adjustments made to the recruitment process, please reach out to your recruiter, who will be able to advise and support you.

Chelsea FC is fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults at risk (vulnerable groups). We therefore require all successful applicants to complete a DBS Check prior to starting employment. Depending on the role, successful applicants may also be required to undergo other child protection screening where appropriate.
