Please note, these roles support a summer residential programme during 25 June – 8 August 2026. To be considered, it is compulsory that you attend a recruitment day on Sunday 29 March at City Football Academy.

You will be required to live onsite at the residential accommodation. You will be fully catered for.

About the Summer Residential Programme

Manchester City’s Summer Residential Programme welcomes young people from around the world for an immersive football, education, and cultural experience delivered at the City Football Academy and supported by high-quality residential provision.

The Roles

To support the delivery of this programme, we are recruiting Residential Programme Staff to join our onsite residential team. These roles play an important part in creating a safe, welcoming and well-organised environment for all participants throughout their stay.

You will join the residential team supporting the accommodation environment during evenings, nights and weekends, ensuring participants are safe, engaged and well supported.

There are two roles available:

  • Duty Manager – supporting the operational coordination and delivery of the residential programme.
  • Residential Supervisor – providing direct supervision, pastoral care and day-to-day support for participants.

Candidates will be considered for the role that best matches their experience and skills as part of the recruitment day.

 

Your Responsibilities

Residential Programme Staff support the delivery of a high-quality residential experience for all participants.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the welfare, wellbeing and safeguarding of participants at all times
  • Supervising residential accommodation and ensuring safe participant movement across the site
  • Supporting daily routines including meals, activities, wakeups and curfews
  • Delivering and supervising evening activities and supporting weekend excursions
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, incidents and welfare matters
  • Working collaboratively with the wider residential and programme team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Representing Manchester City and City Football Group through professional conduct and positive engagement with participants

For more experienced candidates, responsibilities also include:

  • Supporting the coordination of residential operations and logistics
  • Assisting with staff rotas and duty management
  • Leading evening activities and weekend excursions
  • Acting as a first point of contact for participant welfare concerns
  • Supporting programme administration, reporting and communication with the wider programme team

 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about working with young people and contributing to a positive residential experience.

 

Essential 

  • Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, supervisory or educational environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A responsible and professional approach to participant welfare and safeguarding
  • Ability to remain calm, organised and solution-focused in a busy environment
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Willingness to live onsite and work flexible shifts including evenings, nights and weekends during programme delivery

 

Desirable 

  • Experience within a residential, boarding, camp or sports environment
  • Experience supervising staff or coordinating teams
  • Experience working with international groups of young people
  • Safeguarding, first aid or youth work qualifications
  • An interest in football, sport or education programmes
