Position Summary:
As an Assistant Coach within the Nashville Soccer Club Academy, you will play an important role in supporting the development of elite youth players across multiple age groups. Reporting to the Academy Director and working closely with the Head Coaches of assigned teams, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality training environments that align with the club’s culture, curriculum, and player development pathway. This role requires adaptability, collaboration, and a strong commitment to individual player development within a professional academy setting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Player Development
  • Support the development of academy players across multiple age groups in alignment with the Nashville SC Player Pathway.
  • Assist in the delivery of age-appropriate training sessions that emphasize technical development, tactical understanding, physical performance, and decision-making.
2. Training & Session Support
  • Work closely with Head Coaches to plan, organize, and deliver training sessions that reflect the club’s methodology and game model.
  • Provide detailed coaching feedback to players during training and competitive matches.
3. Curriculum Implementation
  • Support the consistent implementation of the club’s structured curriculum across assigned age groups, ensuring alignment with the club’s philosophy and standards.
4. Team & Matchday Support
  • Assist with matchday preparation and execution, including warm-ups, in-game coaching, and post-match feedback, under the direction of the Head Coach.
  • Support video review and individual learning moments as required.
5. Player Monitoring & IDPs
  • Contribute to Individual Development Plans (IDPs) through observation, feedback, and collaboration with Head Coaches and support staff.
  • Assist in tracking player progress and supporting internal player movement across age groups when appropriate.
6. Communication & Professional Standards
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with players, staff, and families, in alignment with club expectations.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of player evaluations during designated review periods (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Final).
7. Scouting & Club Support
  • Assist with player evaluations during training, matches, and trial environments as requested.
  • Support academy-wide initiatives, events, and projects as directed by academy leadership.

Qualifications
  • USSF B License or equivalent coaching qualification 
  • Experience coaching youth players in a competitive or elite development environment.
  • Strong understanding of player development principles across technical, tactical, physical, and psychological domains.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a professional coaching environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability when working across multiple teams and age groups.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development within modern football.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for training sessions, matches, tournaments, and club events.
