The Opportunity: 

SAFC are seeking a skilled Commercial Plumbing and Heating Engineer with proven experience in commercial settings. In this role, you will be responsible for fault finding, rectification, and testing of plumbing and heating systems within commercial environments, ensuring they operate efficiently, reliably, and safely. You will carry out small installations and project works, contributing to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of our facilities. Your expertise will include inspecting and testing mechanical systems, such as Temperature Control Valves (TMVs) and legionella compliance, ensuring all systems adhere to regulatory standards.

As part of the maintenance team, you will participate in the reactive call-out rota and assist with general maintenance tasks as needed. Keeping accurate records of your work is essential, and you will liaise effectively with fellow maintenance staff, management, and external contractors to ensure seamless operations. You will also manage and support contractors while following the Club’s security, stock control, and key holder procedures. A strong understanding of our Health & Safety Policy is vital, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. Your proactive approach to fault-finding, commitment to exceptional customer service, and logical thinking will be key to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for all users, including staff, players, and visitors.

What We Ask For: 

The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial experience, with a strong background in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating systems, boilers, and plumbing fixtures. You should be adept at troubleshooting and resolving complex commercial heating and plumbing issues, demonstrating strong technical skills, diagnostic abilities, and attention to detail.

You should hold relevant certifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in plumbing and heating. Being Gas Safe registered, or actively working towards registration, is essential. Additional qualifications in renewable energy systems, such as solar thermal or heat pumps, will be advantageous and demonstrate our commitment to sustainable practices.

An Enhanced DBS from Sunderland AFC is required.
