The Role

 

The Skilled Groundsperson will support the Manchester City Grounds Team in the delivery and ongoing management of grounds maintenance and landscaping services across club sites. The role will contribute to the effective coordination of operational processes, while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and presentation.

 

Your Impact

 

  1. Deliver high-quality grounds maintenance services across all MCFC sites, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and in full alignment with club policies, legislative requirements, environmental standards, and relevant certifying authorities.
  2. Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met for every task, operating in line with current legislation, industry best practice, and MCFC Health & Safety policy.
  3. Take full ownership of allocated grounds maintenance tasks from initiation through to completion.
  4. Monitor the performance and outcomes of grounds maintenance services, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing enhancements where appropriate.
  5. Collaborate closely with partners and internal stakeholders to provide a safe, high-quality, and fit-for-purpose environment for all users of MCFC grounds facilities.

 

What we are looking for

Essential 

 

  • Hold NVQ Level 3 Sports Turf qualification (or working towards).
  • Hold Pesticides Application 1, 2 and 6 spraying certificates.
  • Demonstrate experience in a Grounds Maintenance role with knowledge of health and safety legislation in practice.
  • Knowledge of correct application of chemicals and fertilizers and strong understanding of automatic irrigation systems.
  • Experience in using pedestrian and ride on machinery.
  • Ability to plan maintenance around the football training schedule.

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience with maintenance on reinforced pitches preferably, Hybrid or Fibresand surfaces.
  • Some supervisory experience.
  • Understanding the process behind the use of SGL growing lights.
