Key Responsibilities


To support the supervisors in delivering all aspects of kit and equipment operations. This includes preparing, maintaining, and transporting matchday and training kit, ensuring players and staff have what they need at all times for optimal performance.
 
  • Assist in the preparation, packing, and distribution of kits for training sessions, matchdays (home and away), and club events.
  • Ensure all kits, boots, and equipment are clean, in good condition, and ready for use.
  • Support the setup of dressing rooms pre-match and post-match, including correct shirt numbering and layout.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of kit and equipment (e.g. shirts, shorts, socks, balls, cones, bibs)
  • Wash, dry, and store kit and training wear in line with hygiene standards.
  • Help with the logistics of kit transportation to away matches.
  • Assist with labelling and organising player-issued kit.
  • Report any damage or loss of equipment to the Kit Manager.
  • Uphold the club’s professional image, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • The kit assistant role will have a key focus on our Academy department however will need to have flexibility to support our First Team and Women’s team where applicable. 
  • Printing on match kit and training wear.
  • Supporting the busy pre-season arrival and preparation of kit so that it is available in a timely fashion as required by coaches and playing staff.
 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Have significant experience operating and leading within a high-performance sports environment, ideally in football kit management.
  • Have experience working with children and young people.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to high standards.
  • Be dependable, reliable, and able to manage responsibilities effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in all matters.
  • Be a collaborative team player who can build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the club.
  • Demonstrate the organisation's values and behaviours at all times.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive approach, working effectively with fellow kit leads and wider club teams.
  • Be able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and other hours required to meet the needs of the role.
  • The role involves regular lifting, carrying, and transporting kit and equipment. Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with applicable legislation.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have experience driving a van-sized vehicle, where this is a genuine requirement of the role.
  • Hold, or be able to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
