Job Description

D.C. United is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and results-driven sales professional to join our Corporate Partnerships team. This individual will be responsible for generating new partnership revenue through the sale of integrated sponsorship programs across D.C. United, Audi Field, and related club assets.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong track record of prospecting, relationship development, consultative selling, and revenue generation. The role requires the ability to identify opportunities, build meaningful business relationships, develop customized solutions, and close new partnerships that drive value for both D.C. United and our corporate partners.

Sports property sales experience is preferred but not required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Generate new corporate partnership revenue through the sale of integrated sponsorship assets, including: 
    • Venue and stadium signage 
    • Digital and social media platforms 
    • Experiential and hospitality assets 
    • Community and grassroots programs 
    • Content and promotional opportunities 
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive prospecting strategy to identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across targeted industries and categories. 
  • Lead the full sales cycle, including: 
    • Prospecting and outreach 
    • Discovery and needs analysis 
    • Proposal development 
    • Negotiation and contract execution 
    • Partnership launch and transition 
  • Create customized partnership proposals and presentations that align client business objectives with D.C. United marketing and brand assets. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Finance, Legal, Marketing, Brand Engagement, and Event Operations, to develop partnership solutions and ensure successful execution. 
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately track all prospecting activities, meetings, opportunities, and revenue forecasts within the club's CRM platform. 
  • Achieve and exceed individual sales goals while contributing to departmental revenue objectives. 
  • Participate in industry networking events, conferences, and community engagements to cultivate relationships and generate new business opportunities. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of market trends, sponsorship industry dynamics, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities. 
  • Foster long-term relationships with prospective and existing partners, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process. 
Qualifications
  • Proven success in sponsorship sales, business development, advertising sales, media sales, or a related revenue-generating role. 
  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments. 
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and forecasting revenue. 
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass a background check.
