First Team Scout

Job Description

Role

We are looking for Voluntary First Team Scouts to join us on a casual basis and operate in the London and surrounding areas to identify players for our First Team, and Development Team. You'll attend football matches and record the necessary information on potential players.

Responsibilities

Talent Identification & Scouting

  • Identify and assess players across relevant tiers of women’s football.
  • Attend live fixtures regularly to observe potential recruitment targets.
  • Evaluate players across technical, tactical, physical and psychological attributes.
  • Identify both immediate impact players and long-term development prospects.
  • Track emerging talent within youth and senior pathways.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce clear, structured scouting reports aligned with club philosophy.
  • Maintain an organised database of players and observations.
  • Provide insight on player suitability, role fit and potential trajectory.
  • Contribute to discussions around recruitment priorities and squad needs.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with coaching staff and football leadership on recruitment strategy.
  • Share insights in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the women’s football network (clubs, coaches, agents).
  • Support alignment between scouting insights and club playing identity.

Market Awareness

  • Maintain awareness of the women’s football pyramid and player movement.
  • Monitor trends across leagues, academies and development environments.
  • Identify opportunities within underrepresented or overlooked talent pools.

About You

Required

  • FA Talent ID Level 1 
  • Strong understanding of the women’s football landscape in England.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to assess player performance objectively.
  • Strong written communication for reporting.
  • Proactive and able to work independently.
  • Availability to attend live fixtures regularly.

Desirable

  • FA Talent ID Level 2
  • Experience in scouting, coaching or playing at a competitive level.
  • Existing network within women’s football.
  • Understanding of recruitment processes and squad planning.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and governance considerations in football.
