Job Description

Our Mindset

Atlético London is the future generation of women’s and girls’ sport. We are building the club as if football started today:

- No inherited limits or outdated narratives.
- No assumptions about how women’s sport should look.

Our digital platforms are not going to be just highlight reels. They are a place for our community to belong, learn and participate. To show the journey, not just the result. Showcase the pathway to success.

The Challenge

Too many girls leave sport during adolescence, not because they aren’t talented enough, but because they feel they don’t belong.

The way football is presented online shapes whether girls see themselves staying. This role exists to curate that environment whilst highlighting and solving systemic inadequacies in women’s sport.

Role Overview

As the Digital Community Manager, you will own the club’s digital presence across social platforms. You will shape how our football is framed, discussed, and distributed to our community.

The role focuses on content strategy, copywriting, scheduling, matchday coverage and community engagement, working closely with the internal team and creative partners as well as capturing content yourself. The role requires flexibility around Women’s, Academy and Youth fixtures and key club moments.

Hours

Part-time (approximately 8 hours per week, with Sunday matchday and at least 1 (of 2) training availability required).

Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Publishing

- Develop and manage a structured social media content calendar aligned with fixtures, announcements and campaigns.
- Write on-brand copy for matchdays, results, team news and club communications.
- Upload, populate and export pre-designed Photoshop templates for social media posts (e.g. line-ups, results, fixtures, announcements)
- Publish and optimise photography and video content supplied by the club photographer and external
videographers (when utilised).
- Ensure content is consistent with club tone of voice and brand guidelines.
- Work closely with the Website & Editorial Manager to schedule long-form editorial work to be pushed out through social media channels.

Matchday & Fan Engagement

- Deliver (near) live matchday coverage across relevant platforms.
- Monitor and engage with supporter comments, messages and mentions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive online community for fans globally.

Collaboration & Content Coordination

- Work closely with the club photographer to plan and schedule imagery.
- Coordinate with project-by-project videographers to brief content requirements and publishing timelines.
- Collaborate with brand, communications and football operations teams, as required.

Analysis & Reporting

- Monitor social media performance including engagement, reach and follower growth.
- Produce basic performance reports and insights to support ongoing improvement.

The Measurables

Increase Participation

- Present football as accessible and serious way.
- Show clear entry points into our girls’ pathway.
- Remove intimidation from how performance is communicated.
- Ensure first time players see football as something they can step into.

- Frame matchdays as development journeys, not just results.
- Highlight work, growth, tactical learning and setbacks.
- Build digital spaces that feel structured, safe and modern.
- Avoid hype cycles and built sustainable interest.

Revolutionise the System

- Maintain a visual identity that reflects professionalism and long-term standards
- Treat women as athletes, do not force narratives.
- Experiment with creative formats specifically for women rather than a copy of a men’s template.

About You

Required

- Strong understanding of sport culture and supporter expectations.
- Excellent copywriting and communication skills.
- Experience working with established brand systems or templates.
- Strong visual awareness and attention to detail and brand consistency.
