Position Summary

SSU Grassroots Coaches are in charge of providing leadership and development within the
U7-U13 age groups. The role oversees all facets of the Grassroots program, including but not
limited to; practices, games, off-field events, and curriculum and program/season planning.

Duties & Responsibilities

● In alignment with the Ontario Soccer Long-Term Player Development Plan, coaches will
develop and execute age appropriate training sessions that includes up to 3 training sessions
per week and 1 game per week
● Travel with the team and attend all practices and Festivals/Games
● Attend Coach Education and Development Sessions
● Promoting and implementing SSU’s values and brand
● Communicate with parents and the wider membership

Experience & Skills

● Age-appropriate certifications, full safe sport Roster
● 1-3 years coaching experience
● Strong management and leadership skills
● Strong communication skills
● Valid driver’s license and accessibility to a vehicle
● CRC Police Check (Police Vulnerable Sector Check)
● Eligible to work in Canada
● A comprehensive understanding of Ontario Soccer and South Simcoe United is an asset
