POSITION SUMMARY
The Active Start Head Coach is responsible for leading and delivering Brams United Soccer
Club’s U4–U5 programming under the guidance of the Manager of Grassroots and the Executive
Director/Director of Soccer. This role requires strong leadership, professionalism, and
experience working with young children in an early childhood development setting, ensuring
player safety, enjoyment, and growth in alignment with Ontario Soccer’s LTPD model.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead U4–U5 training sessions following Brams United’s curriculum.
• Maintain a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate learning environment.
• Support physical literacy and introductory ball-skill development.
• Provide leadership and guidance to volunteer and junior coaches.
• Ensure proper equipment setup, field organization, and player safety.
• Communicate weekly objectives and updates to coaches and families.
• Assist with attendance tracking, reporting, and program administration as needed.


PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
• Teach foundational movement skills and simple soccer activities.
• Support emotional, social, and cognitive development through positive reinforcement.
• Use storytelling, imagination activities, and guided discovery coaching methods.
• Adapt activities for varying attention spans, comfort levels, and developmental needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Ontario Soccer Active Start Certification
• NCCP Making Ethical Decisions (MED)
• Respect in Sport – Activity Leader
• Experience working with young children ages 3–5
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check


PREFERRED
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or relevant early-childhood programming experience
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• Additional NCCP or Ontario Soccer certifications (FUNdamentals, C-License or grassroots)

HOURS & COMPENSATION
This is a part-time contract role, compensation will depend on experience. This position requires
availability nights and weekends
