Laundry Assistant

Job Description

Salford City is recruiting for a Laundry Assistant on a casual basis, who will be responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding and presenting of all playing and training wear. 

The role will also require you to keep an updated log of laundry detergents to replace when required; report any maintenance issues with machines; keep a clean and tidy facility at all times; and anticipate and respond to staff and player queries and concerns. 

Experience of working as a laundry assistant is ideal, but not essential. The ideal person will be organised with attention to detail; able to work to tight deadlines and be flexible around fixtures; and be personable with an ability to build individual relationships and work cohesively within a team. 

Salary: £12.21 per hour.
Contract Type: Casual (up to 20 hours per week)
Reports To: Kit Manager.
Location: Peninsula Stadium.


The Purpose:

We are looking for a professional and attentive laundry assistant to support our players and staff at
Salford City FC. Supported by the Kit Manager, this role is responsible for sorting, washing, drying,
folding and presenting of all playing and training wear.


The Role:

• Sorting and folding laundry.
• Presenting playing and training wear ready for training and matches.
• Keep an updated log of laundry detergents and replace as and when required.
• Report issues with machines and liaise with the maintenance company.
• Ensure the facility remains clean and tidy at all times.
• Anticipate and respond to staff and players queries and concerns.


The Person:

• Experience of working as a laundry assistant would be ideal but not essential.
• Organised with attention to detail.
• Able to work to tight deadlines and be flexible around fixtures.
• Personable with an ability to build individual relationships and work cohesively within a team.
• Ability to drive with a clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.


You will be an integral part of the team where your work will positively impact the players. You will
work closely with the Kit Manager to ensure the department operates efficiently in supporting match
and training activities.

The role requires a high degree of flexibility throughout the week to support our busy
training and match schedules and as such candidates should be prepared to work
evenings and weekends on a regular basis. Flexibility is key due to training and
matches potentially changing at short notice.
