To support our stadium’s redevelopment and expansion plans, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Travel Plan Co-Ordinator to join our growing Matchday Operations team. This is a unique opportunity to lead a cultural shift towards sustainable travel and improve the experience for thousands of visitors at Elland Road Stadium.

Reporting to the Head of Matchday Operations, the Travel Plan Co-Ordinator will lead on the implementation and day-to-day management of the Club’s Travel Co-Ordinator, ensuring a smooth and sustainable travel experience for fans, staff, and visitors. The role will oversee all aspects of travel planning for all events at Elland Road stadium, combining strategic planning, operational delivery and data analysis, with a strong focus on promoting sustainable travel alternatives. We’re looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual with exceptional communication skills and proven experience in project and event management. You’ll bring creativity and innovation to the role, coupled with a strong operational and logistical background that enables you to hit the ground running.

The successful applicant will work closely with employees, visitors and a wide range of external partners – including Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, National Highways, transport operators, and other key stakeholders. The ability to translate strategic objectives into practical, engaging transport solutions and promotional campaigns is an essential aspect of this post. You’ll be confident in influencing behaviour, building relationships, and driving initiatives that make sustainable travel the preferred choice for all stadium events

What are the responsibilities?

This role is central to delivering the Club’s proactive Travel Plan and ensuring smooth, sustainable travel for all stadium events. You will lead the implementation of Travel Plan actions and measures, identify new opportunities to meet targets, and drive initiatives to support sustainable travel. The role spans strategic planning, operational delivery, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and effective communication.

Strategic Planning & Development: Implement the Club’s Travel Plan and develop new initiatives to meet sustainability ambitions, including modal shift measures for all stadium events and parking strategies.

Data Analysis, Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and commission travel- surveys, analyse travel data, identify trends, and prepare with actionable recommendations / to inform strategic decision-making. Periodically review the Travel Plan in liaison with key stakeholders, making necessary adjustments and prepare action plans for improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the central point of contact for transport-related matters, building strong relationships with local authorities, transport providers, residents, and other key partners to ensure the Travel Plan’s effective implementation and monitoring processes.

Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to new travel initiatives, parking infrastructure improvements and data analysis

Policy & Procedure: Develop and maintain travel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational efficiency.

Event Support: Optimise travel operations for matchdays and other stadium events, troubleshoot issues, and provide on-the-day support for all travel-related queries

Communication & Promotion: Encourage the use of public transport, cycling, walking, and other sustainable travel options. Produce and manage Travel Plan communication materials (e.g., website content, posters, newsletters, bulletins), ensuring clear, engaging messaging. Promote sustainable travel options and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in travel planning and sustainable transport

Person Specification

Essential

• Proven experience in travel planning, logistical operations and project planning.

• Passion for sustainable transport and a desire to promote modal shift.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

• Strong organisational and project management abilities, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure.

• Ability to design and conduct surveys, analyse data, Identify trends, and prepare clear, evidence-based reports with strategic recommendations. • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience in working collaboratively with local authorities, transport providers, diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Ability resolve matters calmly and professionally in a fast-paced environment.

• A customer-first attitude and a passion for delivering a positive experience for all stadium attendees.

Desirable

GIS mapping and spatial analysis.

Design software proficiency (e.g. Adobe InDesign or similar) for creating engaging communications and promotional materials.

Familiarity with transport planning policy and Travel Plan frameworks.

Experience working with local authorities and transport operators.

Understanding of demand management tools and monitoring technologies
