Store Manager-Livingston Store (Full-Time)

Job Description

Reporting to the Area Manager, with overall responsibility for the management and control of staff, stock, security, administration and customer services within the Livingston Retail Store. 

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Contributes to the profitable operation of the Store
  • Ensures that high housekeeping standards are instituted and maintained
  • Ensures that sales are maximised through good customer services
  • Ensures the planning and management of the Store wage budget
  • Ensures strict control of all company monies and stock and relevant documentation
  • Ensures all displays are merchandised to a high standard and rotated in line with current sales stock
  • Ensures merchandise is available in all sizes
  • Ensures the control of all variable costs
  • Ensures accurate control of all incoming and outgoing goods
  • Ensures the security of all merchandise and that any shrinkage is kept to a minimum
  • Assists with the on-going training, development and motivation of staff
  • Liaises with the Merchandising Manager as required
  • Ensures awareness and implementation of Health and Safety requirements and that staff are provided with the necessary instruction/training requirements
  • Ensures that all notices regarding Health and Safety, Fire Regulation, Insurance, Shop Hours, etc, are suitably posted and comply with current relevant legislation
  • Ensures that staff are trained in Fire Drill and evacuation procedures and that these are conducted on a regular basis as agreed with the Merchandise Manager
  • Undertakes other responsibilities that evolve with development, knowledge and familiarity of the post

Leadership& People

  • Provide effective leadership to all direct reports, enabling the continuous development and improvement of team members
  • Ensure sufficient succession planning is in place within the Retail team, with development plans identified and implemented
  • Manage both individual and team performance appropriately, ensuring performance gaps are identified and addressed constructively
  • Ensure team members feel valued and recognised by acknowledging and celebrating team and individual successes
  • Alongside HR, provide relevant wellbeing support to colleagues and maintain open channels of communication ensuring sufficient opportunity is available for team members to ask for support
  • Ensure roles within the security & safety team are designed fairly and that work is allocated appropriately between colleagues
  • Ensure the health and wellbeing of colleagues is considered in all team tasks, processes and communications
  • Actively build and maintain positive working relationships with Colleagues across the Club, ensuring a collaborative approach is adopted at all times

Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience working in a Retail environment within a management role

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and match days
