 Job Description

As Technical Director, you will lead the implementation of high‑quality football experiences and drive thriving participation across Aotearoa. You’ll oversee the National Curriculum, Whole of Football 2.0 framework, and development pathways for players, coaches, referees, and administrators. Working collaboratively with the Head of Growth and Development and leading a skilled technical team, you’ll design and deliver strategies that build club capability, support talent development, and ensure clear pathways from community participation to elite performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the National Curriculum and Whole of Football 2.0 framework.
  • Oversee player, coach, referee, and administrator development pathways, ensuring quality education and support.
  • Drive club development initiatives to build strong, sustainable community clubs.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion, ensuring pathways reflect the communities we serve.
  • Inspire and manage a high‑performing technical team, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.

About You
You are a strategic leader with deep technical insight and a passion for quality football experiences. You excel at building systems, empowering people, and collaborating across the game to lift standards and outcomes.

 Desired Skills and Experience

Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience developing and implementing strategic frameworks; leading technical teams; and advancing player and coach pathways (including club development).
  • Tertiary qualification (essential)
  • OFC / NZF “A” Coaching Licence or international equivalent (essential)
  • Degree in sports management (preferred)
