About The Role & Who We’re Scouting

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Sports Science Intern (MSc Placement) to join our squad at Leicester City Football Club. As Sports Science Intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning team in their delivery to academy player under the supervision of the Academy Leads at the LCFC's training ground. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist and/or lead gym and pitch-based athletic development sessions across multiple age groups.
  • Support regular athletic testing to update individual player profiles and training programmes.
  • Monitor and analyse internal and external training load data to inform planning and periodisation.
  • Contribute to the department’s research strategy.
  • Work collaboratively across departments in line with the Academy Performance Plan to support a high-performance environment.

To be considered for this opportunity you must:

  • have a minimum 2:1 degree in Sport & Exercise Science (or related subject) or working towards.
  • be willing to comply and promote the Club’s policies and procedures to include Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and GDPR compliance.
  • undertake required training including mandatory Club Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Safeguarding Inductions.
