Football Lead Coach/Area Manager

Hours: 1.5 evening per week (Mondays) + light admin
Salary: £50 per week (reviewed as the academy grows)

About Dragon Academy

Dragon Academy is one of the fastest-growing youth football academies in South Wales, delivering structured, high-quality training for players aged 2–13 across Mini, Junior and Advanced age groups. Our RCT and Bridgend venues currently support over 80 young players, with constant growth and waiting lists.

We are now looking for a confident, organised and reliable Area Manager & Lead Coach to take ownership of our RCT venue, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional training standards every week.

Role Overview

This combined role requires someone who can lead on the pitch and manage the venue confidently.
You will coach, oversee the session structure, support assistant coaches, and ensure parents receive a high-quality, professional experience from the moment they arrive.

This is a key leadership position and an opportunity to become a major part of Dragon Academy’s long-term expansion.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead Coaching

• Deliver high-quality, structured coaching to one or more age groups (Mini, Junior or Advanced).
• Follow Dragon Academy training plans and maintain a fast, engaging session style.
• Coach with energy, discipline and professionalism.
• Mentor support coaches and ensure consistent coaching standards.

Area Management

• Open and set up the venue (equipment, cones, bibs, banners).
• Sign in players, manage attendance and ensure safeguarding processes are followed.
• Oversee smooth transitions between age groups.
• Act as the main point of contact for parents during sessions.
• Handle basic enquiries about memberships, waiting lists and free trials.
• Report any issues to the Academy Director (Dylan).

Leadership & Standards

• Maintain a positive, safe and professional environment.
• Lead by example with behaviour, communication and work ethic.
• Ensure children, parents and coaches all feel welcomed and supported.
• Protect the academy’s reputation and uphold our values at all times.

What We’re Looking For

• Coaching experience
• Confident communicator with great people skills.
• Reliable, organised and able to manage a busy session environment.
• Passionate about youth development and children’s football.
• Experience with young players (advantage but not required).
• Must be comfortable leading other coaches.

Qualifications: Minimum FAW C , Preferred UEFA B

Every Monday – RCT Dragon Academy
6:00pm–7:00pm (Arrive 5.30pm)
(Plus light admin during the week, flexible.)
