What is the role?
We are looking for a Head of Women’s Football to play a key role in the strategic development and operational delivery of Southampton FC’s Women’s and Girls’ programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the continued growth of the programme, ensuring best-in-class provision across all areas, while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements. The successful candidate will oversee key operational responsibilities, including Women’s First Team logistics, programme budgets, staff recruitment, stakeholder relationships and strategic delivery across the Women’s and Girls’ pathway.
What will you be doing?
Working closely with key stakeholders you will develop and deliver the strategy and vision for Southampton FC Women. This will include aligning key measures and targets across departments, monitoring performance against the strategy and providing regular updates on budget and performance to senior managers.
A key part of the role will be leading the organisation, planning and delivery of all operational and logistical support for the Women’s First Team. You will be responsible for fixture logistics and planning, supporting pre-season and competitive league fixtures, managing key relationships with matchday and training facilities, and attending site meetings to ensure training facilities are planned effectively.
You will also lead on key administrative and compliance duties, including player registrations, contracts and league requirements. Working with the Club Secretary, Legal Team and Finance Team, you will support the preparation of professional playing contracts, manage budgets across the programme and provide evidence required for league funding.
As a leader within the programme, you will support the recruitment of high-quality staff, train, guide and mentor team members, and ensure Personal Development Plans are regularly reviewed. You will hold regular team meetings, support individual development and manage performance in a constructive and timely way to maintain a positive and effective team environment.
You will also be responsible for ensuring Health and Safety compliance within your team and upholding the Club’s safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion standards at all times.

You are a highly organised, strategic and collaborative leader with strong communication skills and a passion for developing women’s football. You are confident working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, can manage multiple priorities effectively, and are comfortable balancing long-term strategic planning with the day-to-day operational demands of a high-performance football environment.
