An exciting opportunity has become available within the Women’s Team at Watford Football Club. We
are currently looking to recruit a Performance Wellbeing Lead, who will be responsible for leading and
embedding a holistic wellbeing programme for the Women’s team, supporting physical, psychological,
emotional and social wellbeing in line with WSL requirements and best practice. The role will work
collaboratively across the multidisciplinary performance team to ensure player welfare is prioritised,
wellbeing is proactively supported and appropriate systems are in place to help players thrive on and
off the pitch,
The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and be
flexible to the requirements of the position and the business.
Applicants should ideally live local to Watford and London Colney or the surrounding areas and be a
UK resident or non-UK resident with a valid UK work permit and ideally have experience working within
a similar role.
You must have:
• A degree in a relevant field (Sport Psychology, Performance Well-being, Education etc.).
• Experience supporting wellbeing within sport, performance environments or similar settings.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and duty of care in football.
• The ability to trust and build rapport with players and staff.
• A willingness to work evenings, weekends and matchdays.
• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations due to the demands of the role
• Understanding of the Clubs commitment to EDI & Safeguarding
You would ideally have, but not vital:
• Level 3 Athlete personal and development lifestyle certification
• Experience working in women’s football or elite sport
• Mental Health First Aid or equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of FA/WSL safeguarding and wellbeing frameworks
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary performance team
