Northumberland Heath FC is an ambitious and rapidly growing community football club committed to providing outstanding opportunities for players of all ages. We are now seeking an enthusiastic, driven and organised individual to lead and develop our Women's and Girls Football Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about growing the female game and creating a clear pathway from grassroots football through to senior women's football.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of the club by recruiting players, supporting coaches, building new teams and creating a thriving environment for girls and women to enjoy football.

Women's & Girls Football Development Lead

Location: Northumberland Heath FC, Bexley

Contract Type: Part-Time / Flexible (with opportunity to grow)

Salary: Dependent on experience

The Role

The Women's & Girls Football Development Lead will be responsible for the strategic growth and day-to-day management of the club's female football pathway.

The successful candidate will oversee recruitment, retention and development across the women's and girls' section while ensuring coaches, players and parents receive excellent support.

The role will also include managing or coaching one of the club's girls' teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesGrowth & Recruitment

  • Develop and implement a recruitment strategy for girls and women.
  • Increase participation across all age groups.
  • Organise recruitment events, open sessions and football festivals.
  • Build relationships with schools, colleges and local community groups.
  • Promote the women's and girls' programme through social media and local networks.

Football Pathway Development

  • Create and maintain a clear player pathway from youth football into women's football.
  • Work closely with club leadership to identify future team requirements.
  • Ensure players are supported throughout their development journey.

Coach Management & Support

  • Support, mentor and communicate regularly with girls' and women's coaches.
  • Assist with coach recruitment and retention.
  • Promote coaching standards and continuous development.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and compliance requirements are met.

Team Management

  • Manage and coach a girls' team within the club.
  • Deliver high-quality training sessions and matchday management.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and development-focused environment.

Administration & Communication

  • Attend club meetings and provide updates on the women's and girls' section.
  • Maintain player and team records where required.
  • Work collaboratively with club officials and volunteers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the women's and girls' programme.

Essential Requirements

  • FA Introduction to Coaching Football (or higher).
  • Current FA Safeguarding Certificate.
  • Current Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Desirable

  • UEFA C Licence or above.
  • Experience leading football programmes.
  • Experience recruiting players and volunteers.
  • Existing network within girls' and women's football.
