Reports to: Head of Academy Performance Analysis
Location: Bloomfield Road, Blackpool (with travel to training and match venues)
Hours: 32 per week – to include weekends & match days (Typical working days
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday)


Who we are:

Blackpool Football Club is an English Professional Association Football Club based in the
seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.

The Club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding
member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the Top-Flight of the Football League
(the old First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the
Premier League in 2010 (becoming the first Club to gain promotion from every division of
the Football League via the play-off system).

The team is competing in League One, the third tier of the English Football League.

The Club have played their home games at Bloomfield Road since 1901.


About the role:

Blackpool Football Club is looking for a talented individual to join our Academy Performance
Analysis department to analyse players’ performance and identify patterns and trends to
inform the coaching process.

The successful candidate will provide detailed post-match analysis for direct use by the
coaching staff and players, including live match-day analysis support, and will collaborate
with other staff to ensure the highest possible standards of performance analysis provision
throughout the Football Club. All software and analysis licences will be provided by the club.

The position is full-time, with working hours flexible around the needs of the club, including
evening and weekend work and special events as required.

You will be expected to undertake any specific training or continuing professional
development required to maintain up-to-date knowledge and qualifications, and/or as
organised by the club.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Help to support the club’s performance analysis provision.
• Support the process of post-match analysis with specific tasks to help players and
staff with the reflection process to aid development.
• Assist the HOA with the filming of all U18 and U17 matches.
• Assist with the live coding of U18 and U17 matches.
• Assist the HOA with the organisation of filming matches within the Foundation Phase
and Youth Development phase.
• Complete post-match coding of all U18 and U17 matches to aid the data collection
for relevant metrics and instances.
• Where necessary, support insights with video, data, or tactical context.
• Set up and carry out an insightful and consistent post-match review process with
staff, creating presentations for players.
• Film and code training sessions when deemed appropriate.
• Ensure the Head of Coaching, coaching staff, support staff and players are supported
with the appropriate resources to aid performance.
• Distribute match footage in the most efficient and accessible form to allow players,
coaches, and analysts to conduct analysis immediately following each match.
• Collate all resources into engaging and concise forms of presentation, according to
delivery methods required by the coaching staff.
• Editing of video where required, to enhance the portrayal of key messages and aid in
the delivery.
• Deliver an exceptionally high standard of work in a pressurised environment with
tight deadlines.
• Manage individual player databases, ensuring they are stored effectively and made
accessible when required.
• Additional duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Academy Performance
Analysis.
• Adhere to the Club’s Safeguarding Policy at all times.

• To promote a professional image of the Club and themselves at all times.
• Contribute to identifying and undertaking initiatives aimed at improving the
efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
• Work with and support other team members as required, ensuring effective and
efficient service is developed and delivered.

knowledge and understanding relevant to your own job role.
