Role Purpose

To take a leading role in the recruitment process across the Northeast & Yorkshire regions to identify, track and recommend high potential players suitable for Tottenham Hotspur Academy. To support the cross-referencing of top national talent and targets via live or video scouting which may include international travel. To represent the club with distinction and class when liaising with clubs, agents and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play an integral role in the decision-making process regarding Academy player acquisitions within the North East & Yorkshire regions.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of players within the U13–U18 age groups across the North East & Yorkshire and contribute knowledge to the wider UK & Ireland talent landscape.
  • Work closely with the Head of Academy Recruitment, National Recruitment Manager and National Recruitment Co-ordinator to build and maintain a comprehensive player knowledge database.
  • Deliver key regional insights and content to the National Recruitment Manager, including recruitment briefs, succession plans, target lists, squad reviews, and presentations.
  • Coordinate and cross-check scouting coverage and reports across the North East & Yorkshire to ensure complete monitoring of competitions and emerging talent pools.
  • Collaborate with National Regional Leads to share intelligence on players transitioning between regions and age groups.
  • Produce high-quality written scouting reports from both live and video-based analysis of players.
  • Develop strong knowledge and informed opinions on players within the club’s scouting database, including both external prospects and current Academy players.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of Premier League and EFL regulations, including transfer rules, squad composition, and EPPP guidelines relating to compensation and player
  • Represent the club positively in the market when engaging with agents, clubs and key football contacts across the region.

Person Specification

Professional Experience

  • Significant experience in academy recruitment and youth talent identification, ideally within the North East & Yorkshire regions.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative recruitment decision-making
  • Experience using scouting and player identification platforms such as Hudl, Eyeball, and

Knowledge & Understanding

  • Extensive football knowledge and ability to identify players against defined player profiles.
  • Strong understanding of Premier League Academy rules and Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) standards.
  • Knowledge of youth player profiling across the U13-U18 age groups including positional, performance and personal attributes
  • Strong awareness of the North East & Yorkshire football landscape, including private football organisations, county/schools and academy systems.

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with internal staff and external stakeholders across the North East & Yorkshire football network.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring ability, particularly in supporting and guiding
