Job Description

Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC officially began competing in MLS in April 2021, and in the 2025 season qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs while also reaching and hosting the final of the U.S. Open Cup. Austin FC plays its home matches at Q2 Stadium, a 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art stadium which earned certification as a zero-waste venue in 2024. Austin FC sold out all 88 MLS home matches it played at Q2 Stadium during its first five seasons in the league, including three home MLS Cup Playoff matches.

Austin FC is actively seeking a detailed-oriented and professional Player Engagement Coordinator.  In this role, you will build a trusting relationship with Austin FC’s players and families to be able to directly provide support with day-to-day personal, logistical, and onboarding needs to ensure a smooth transition into the Club.  This position will serve as a crucial role in the success of a player’s assimilation and wellbeing off the field.  Additionally, this role will be an important liaison between soccer operations and business operations in communicating and enforcing important details about events and player appearances.
 
This position will be based in Austin, TX and the role will be in-person at St. David’s Performance Center.

 You Will:
·        Build trusting relationships with players, staff, and families and serve as primary contact for day-to-day needs and responds to inquires in a timely manner; and 
·        Lead player relocations and player needs to include securing transportation or vehicles, hotel accommodations, phone and technology needs, school or childcare exploration, etc.; and 
·        Lead player introductions to market housing agents, lease guidance, and bank referrals leaning on corporate partners (if available); and 
·        Lead onboarding and market integration for all players and lead communication regarding training facility guidelines and protocols; and 
·        Lead in managing obtaining legal identifications and documentation as part of the relocation process and in any future visa process; and 
·        Maintain consistent communication with players regarding logistics, deadlines, and Club processes; and
·        Educate players on need-to-know procedures and how to best navigate everyday needs to empower the players and families; and
·        Coordinate family-related needs, including arrivals, departures, specials events, and matchday access logistics, as well as ticketing needs in advance of matchdays; and
·        Travel as needed to provide continuity of support during away matches and team trips; and
·        Be liaison with business side and players as it relates to player appearances, signing of items like jerseys, balls, etc, and other player activations, and accurately and timely communicate with all parties; and 
·        Provide a consistent level of support to players and families during their tenure as members of the Club; and
·        Assist the Soccer Operations Team with day-to-day tasks and special projects. 

You Have:
·        Bachelor’s degree 
·        Minimum 2 years of experience working in a professional sports environment 
·        Preferred experience working in Team Operations
·        Preferred experience working directly with professional athletes
·        Ability to remain calm and focused when dealing with athletes and/or high touch clients
·        Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
·        Ability to work irregular hours, and understanding that most duties may be completed during after hours
·        Valid driver license required; ability to drive Club vehicles and be insured under Club vehicle insurance
·        Proficiency in Microsoft applications
·        Strong organizational skills
·        Effective verbal and written communication skills, with diverse audiences
·        Attention to detail and dedicated work ethic 
·        English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus. Additional languages – even better
·        Knowledge of best practices and commitment to remain up to date with industry standards
