Job Description
The Sporting Kansas City II Goalkeeper Coach shall be responsible for leading the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of all goalkeepers within the MLS NEXT Pro squad. The role support’s the team’s game model integrates goalkeeper actions into team training and ensures smooth alignment with the first team and academy pathways.
Essential Functions
Plan, design and execute goalkeeper training sessions aligned with the club’s game model and periodization plan as well as collaborate with the head coach to implement coaching of the goalkeeper within team training sessions.
Create session designs based on match analysis, objectives and individual development plans to help facilitate the goalkeepers in the MLS NEXT Pro environment.
Integrate goalkeeper into team training environment through functional exercises and game realistic scenarios.
Monitor in game performance, providing feedback when appropriate and leading post-match reviews through video, data analysis and other necessary reflection processes.
Create and maintain IDP plans for goalkeepers, tracking their progress through evaluations
Collaborate with the first team goalkeeper coach and academy goalkeeper coach, alongside academy and first team staff and communicate goalkeeper performance and movement through the pathway.
Game Day Responsibilities
Prepare goalkeepers for matches through pre-game warmups, scouting opposition tendencies and set piece considerations
Provide goalkeepers with penalty analysis sheets to review penalties that may occur in the game.
Execute a proper warm up to ensure that goalkeepers are ready to perform at a high level.
Keep notes on the bench of moments during the game that must be reviewed at half time and/or following the game and provide necessary feedback at halftime and post-match as necessary

Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in sports management.
Three (3) years of professional playing experience as well as professional coaching experience.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proven effective leadership, recruiting and coaching skills.
Experience working with diverse and varied socio-economic backgrounds.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
Understanding and willingness to use Wyscout, hudl and statsbomb as a developmental tool.
