Job Description

Support the next generation of international football talent

Fleetwood Town Football Club and Fleetwood Town International Football Academy (FTIFA) are looking for caring, welcoming and supportive host families to provide accommodation for our international academy players during their time in the UK.

Many of our players travel from around the world to pursue their football and education ambitions at FTIFA. Being away from home is a significant step, and our host families play an essential role in helping players settle into life in England by providing a safe, supportive and family environment.

Whether players are joining our full-time international programme or spending time with us on assessment or development programmes, our host families become an important part of their journey.

Role Overview

As a host family, you will provide a safe and nurturing home for an international academy player, acting in loco parentis throughout their stay.

Host families are expected to provide:

  • A warm, welcoming and secure home environment.
  • A furnished bedroom with suitable storage.
  • Access to Wi-Fi and laundry facilities.
  • Nutritious meals, including breakfast and evening meals, with additional meals where required.
  • Appropriate supervision and pastoral support.
  • A positive environment that helps players adapt to living and studying in the UK.

We welcome applications from families able to host one player, although accommodation for two players in separate bedrooms is advantageous.

Placements may range from short-term stays to full academic years depending on programme requirements.

Why Become a Host Family?

Hosting provides the opportunity to:

  • Support talented young footballers from across the world.
  • Experience different cultures and build lifelong friendships.
  • Play an important role in a player’s personal and football development.
  • Become part of the Fleetwood Town and FTIFA family.

Host families receive financial remuneration to help cover the costs associated with hosting.

The welfare of every young person is our highest priority.

All host families must:

  • Complete an Enhanced DBS check for all household members aged 18 or over.
  • Undergo a home inspection.
  • Provide two satisfactory references.
  • Complete safeguarding training provided by Fleetwood Town Football Club.
  • Comply with all Club and EFL safeguarding policies.

Any safeguarding concerns should be reported immediately to the Club’s Designated Safeguarding Officers.
