Stadium Electrician

Location: St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park, Birmingham

The Role

As Stadium Electrician, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the stadium, ensuring all electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant regulations.

 

Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider Facilities team, you will support matchdays, events, and day-to-day stadium operations while helping to drive continual improvements to the Club's electrical infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities

Planned & Reactive Maintenance

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across all stadium electrical systems
  • Deliver reactive maintenance and repairs to minimise operational disruption
  • Accurately record completed works and remedial actions using Halo
  • Respond to and prioritise maintenance requests through the Club's CAFM system

 

Electrical Operations

  • Act as the lead electrician on site, undertaking electrical maintenance and repair works
  • Hold and maintain relevant electrical qualifications including 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Manage electrical materials and stock, ensuring parts are available when required
  • Monitor stadium electrical infrastructure and identify improvement opportunities

 

 

Matchday & Event Support

  • Be responsible for matchday and event-related electrical requirements
  • Support matchday operations and attend fixtures as the on-site electrician
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly to ensure a seamless supporter experience
  • Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team to support stadium operations

 

 

Wider Maintenance Support

  • Assist with general stadium maintenance activities where required
  • Support facility preparations before and after matches and events
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment across the stadium estate

 

 

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to health and safety
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays as required

 

Desirable

  • 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification
  • Experience within a stadium, events venue, commercial, or large public building environment
  • Experience using CAFM systems such as Halo
  • Knowledge of building services maintenance and compliance requirements
