Stadium Plumber

Location: St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park, Birmingham

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Stadium Plumber to join our Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining one of the country's most iconic football venues while helping to deliver an outstanding experience for supporters, hospitality guests, and visitors.

 

The Opportunity

As Stadium Plumber, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across the Club's estate, including the 28,500-seat stadium, retail store, fan zones, and associated facilities.

 

Working as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, you will ensure all plumbing, heating, and drainage systems are maintained to the highest standards. The role will also support wider maintenance activities across the stadium and play an important role in matchday and event operations.

 

This position is ideally suited to an experienced plumber who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities

Plumbing Maintenance

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive plumbing repairs across the stadium estate.
  • Service, repair, maintain and troubleshoot plumbing and heating systems.
  • Attend and resolve plumbing breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs to plumbing infrastructure.
  • Undertake installation, replacement, and upgrade works as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant regulations, specifications, and industry standards.

 

Heating & Drainage Systems

  • Maintain and repair heating systems across all Club facilities.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs to drainage systems.
  • Support minor installation and alteration works relating to plumbing, heating, and drainage services.
  • Analyse maintenance issues and identify appropriate repair methods, tools, and materials.

 

Stadium & Matchday Operations

  • Prepare facilities ahead of home fixtures and events.
  • Provide on-site support during matchdays and Club events.
  • Ensure all supporter, hospitality, and operational facilities remain in excellent condition.
  • Support the delivery of a first-class experience for fans, guests, and stakeholders.

 

General Maintenance Support

  • Assist with wider stadium maintenance activities, including:
  • General repairs
  • Painting and decorating
  • Fixture and fitting repairs
  • Basic carpentry tasks
  • Seat inspections and repairs
  • Pre and post-match maintenance activities
  • Support colleagues across the maintenance department as required.
  • Undertake logistical and operational support tasks where appropriate.

 

Health & Safety

  • Operate in accordance with all Club health and safety procedures.
  • Identify routine maintenance issues and rectify where possible.
  • Report equipment performance concerns and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace safety, housekeeping, and compliance.

 

About You

Essential Qualifications

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Services.

 

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience carrying out plumbing maintenance in commercial or public buildings.
  • Knowledge of heating, plumbing, and drainage systems.
  • Experience in general building maintenance and DIY tasks.
  • Knowledge of building services and facilities maintenance activities.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
  • Strong customer service approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work.
