  • Deliver parts of sessions as your confidence develops
  • Support individual player development
  • Assist with match preparation and matchdays
  • Observe and analyse player performance
  • Support warm-ups, technical practices and small-sided games
  • Contribute to player reviews and development plans
  • Learn how an Academy programme operates behind the scenes

Who We’re Looking For

This opportunity would suit a current university student or recent graduate looking to build their coaching CV and gain practical football experience.

You should be:

  • Passionate about football and player development
  • Studying or graduated in a relevant sports/coaching subject
  • Reliable, enthusiastic and professional
  • Confident communicating with young players
  • Willing to learn and take feedback
  • Interested in pursuing a career in football or sports coaching

A recognised FA coaching qualification required.

What You’ll Gain

  • Genuine Academy coaching experience
  • Coaching hours alongside your studies
  • Experience working with Academy-level players
  • Development of session planning and delivery skills
  • Opportunities to learn from experienced coaches
  • Evidence for your coaching portfolio
  • Experience to support future FA/UEFA coaching qualifications
  • A professional reference based on successful involvement
  • Contacts and experience within football, coaching and education

For the right individual, there may also be opportunities to progress into paid coaching work in the future as the Academy develops.

Availability

We can work around university timetables and other commitments. Ideally, you’ll be able to commit to one or more regular Academy sessions each week during the academic year, with additional matchday opportunities available.

Safeguarding

Bishop’s Stortford FC Academy takes safeguarding seriously. Successful applicants will be required to follow all Academy safeguarding policies and procedures. Any necessary safeguarding and background checks will be discussed during the application process.
