Overview
For an immediate start, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Football Coach to join ASFA. This role involves developing and implementing training sessions, mentoring junior coaches, and fostering a positive environment for players of all ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for football, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

This role covers the Oxford area, you will need to posses a full clean driving licence and be able to drive. You will be required for approximately 5 hours a week split across sessions.

Duties

• Plan and deliver engaging football training sessions tailored to different age groups and abilities
• Lead team practices, matches, and tournaments, ensuring players develop their skills effectively
• Mentor and supervise assistant coaches and volunteers, providing guidance and support
• Monitor player progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants
• Organise team logistics such as scheduling sessions, managing equipment, and coordinating with parents or guardians
• Foster team spirit, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among players
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, training progress, and match results

Requirements

• Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly football, with the ability to motivate diverse groups of players
• Strong teaching skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential; willingness to obtain necessary accreditations is expected
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging sessions and manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity
• A commitment to creating an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all backgrounds
• Previous experience working with children or young adults is advantageous
• A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one prior to employment
