What You’ll Be Doing

We are seeking an enthusiastic, inclusive, and passionate Disability Coach to join the Leeds United Foundation Sports Participation team.

This role will focus on delivering high-quality disability football and sport sessions that provide positive, engaging, and accessible opportunities for children, young people, and adults with disabilities. You will play an important role in supporting participant development while creating a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.

Working within the Foundation's coaching philosophy and player development framework, you will support participants' technical, physical, psychological, and social development while promoting participation, confidence, and wellbeing through sport.

Key Responsibilities:

Coaching Delivery

  • Deliver high-quality disability football and sports coaching sessions.

  • Create safe, inclusive, engaging, and enjoyable sessions for participants of all abilities.

  • Implement the Leeds United Foundation coaching curriculum and games programme.

  • Adapt coaching activities to meet individual participant needs.

  • Support the welfare, development, and progression of participants across the programme.

Participant Development

  • Promote confidence, independence, wellbeing, and participation through sport.

  • Support talent identification and participant progression opportunities where appropriate.

  • Encourage positive behaviours and personal development.

  • Build positive relationships with participants, parents, carers, and support networks.

Programme Delivery & Administration

  • Maintain accurate programme records including:

    • Registers

    • Risk Assessments

    • Wellness Reports

    • Safeguarding Documentation

     

  • Attend fixtures, festivals, events, and training sessions as required.

  • Maintain equipment required for safe and effective programme delivery.

  • Contribute to programme reviews and staff meetings.

Safeguarding & Inclusion

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, welfare, health & safety, and equality policies.

  • Create an inclusive environment which promotes participation and accessibility.

  • Support Leeds United Foundation's commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

  • Promote the values, vision, and standards of the Foundation at all times.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have:

FA Introduction to Coaching Disabled Footballers qualification.

Valid FA First Aid Qualification.

FA Safeguarding Children Qualification.

Eligibility to pass an Enhanced DBS check.

Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own transport.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong commitment to safeguarding and participant welfare.

Passion for disability sport and inclusive participation.

Flexibility to work evenings as required.

Experience

Experience coaching SEND and/or PAN Disability sports sessions.

Experience working with children, young people, or adults with disabilities.

Experience delivering football or multi-sport coaching sessions.

Experience adapting coaching sessions to meet different participant needs.

Experience creating positive, inclusive learning environments.

Experience maintaining programme records and administrative requirements.

Desirable

SENCO Training.

Team Teach Qualification.

Knowledge of FA Disability Talent Pathways.

Experience within disability football or disability sport programmes.

Experience supporting participant progression and development pathways.
