Professional Development Phase Physical Performance Coach

Job Description

Hull City are looking for an organised and engaging Professional Development Phase Physical Performance Coach, to join the Academy team based at Bishop Burton College.

 

Position Type: Permanent, Hull time working 37.5 hours per week (evenings and weekends may be required)

Location: Hull City Academy, Bishop Burton College, HU17 8QG

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum

Closing Date: Friday 4 September, 9am.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Design and deliver warm-ups, gym-based S&C, recovery, and injury prevention sessions for PDP players.

·       Deliver individual physical development plans using performance data.

·       Provide match day support including warm-ups, post-match conditioning, and nutrition strategies.

·       Collaborate across the medical and science team in rehab, off-season planning, and performance reviews.

·       Align with 1st Team practices through ongoing CPD sessions.

 

Monitoring & Screening:

·       Use STATSports GPS for monitoring training loads and physical performance.

·       Report training load data to stakeholders.

·       Implement screening protocols to track development across cycles.

 

Team Collaboration:

·       Work closely with coaching and wider MDT staff (nutrition, psychology, player care, etc.) to support player development.

·       Contribute to objective data-led player reviews.

 

What We’re Looking For:

·       Strong S&C delivery experience in sport.

·       Excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·       Proficiency in IT (PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI).

·       Experience with STATSports, PMA, Benchmark54 beneficial.

·       BSc in Sport/Exercise (Essential); 

·       MSc, UKSCA/BASES (Desirable or to be achieved in 6 months).

·       DBS clearance required.
