Grassroots Academy Coach - Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club

THE OPPORTUNITY

Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club is recruiting Academy Coaches for its U8 to U13 programming for the 2026-27
competitive season. These roles are part of the Mount Hamilton United TFC Academy pathway and are separate from the
OPDL programs.

This opportunity is designed for coaches who want to create a high-quality, player-centred environment while building
practical experience inside a structured club development system. We welcome aspiring coaches, university and college
students, recent graduates, teachers, sport professionals, former players, and experienced coaches seeking their next
opportunity.

ABOUT MOUNT HAMILTON UNITED SOCCER CLUB

Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club delivers a complete Long-Term Ontario Player Development Pathway from grassroots
participation through competitive and high-performance programming. Our Academy supports players during critical
development years through structured training, meaningful competition, professional standards, and a clear connection to the
broader club pathway.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions aligned with the club curriculum, development principles, and
assigned program objectives
• Lead match-day and/or festival activities with a development-first approach, using competition as an extension of the learning
environment
• Create a safe, inclusive, disciplined, and positive environment in which every player is supported and appropriately challenged
• Provide clear technical feedback and contribute to player assessments, development plans, and pathway recommendations
• Communicate professionally with players, parents, assistant coaches, technical staff, and club operations personnel
• Maintain attendance, availability, roster, session-planning, game-sheet, equipment, and other assigned administrative records
• Attend coach-development meetings, technical workshops, team meetings, and club events as assigned
• Follow all MHUSC, Ontario Soccer, Canada Soccer, league, facility, safeguarding, and Safe Sport requirements and Code of
Conducts

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are open to candidates at all stages of their coaching journey. Previous head-coaching experience is not required for every
assignment; role placement will reflect each candidate's experience, qualifications, availability, and demonstrated readiness.

• A professional, reliable, organized, and collaborative approach.
• The ability to communicate clearly with children, families, and colleagues.
• Emotional control, sound judgment, and positive sideline behaviour.
• A willingness to learn, receive feedback, and apply the club's coaching methodology.
• Regular evening and weekend availability throughout the assigned season.
• Reliable transportation to training, match, festival, and tournament locations in Hamilton and surrounding communities.

COACH EDUCATION AND SCREENING

Candidates will need to hold every listed credential at the time of application. Appointment and deployment will be conditional on
completing the requirements applicable to the assigned age group and role by the deadlines established by the club.

• Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Stage-appropriate Canada Soccer Grassroots Coach Education theory and practical training.
• NCCP Make Ethical Decisions, Making Head Way, Emergency Action Planning, and Understanding the Rule of Two.
• Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders and all other applicable Safe Sport requirements.
• First Aid and CPR certification are considered assets and may be required for designated assignments.
• Required Age Specific Licenses, Ontario Soccer Grassroots Diploma, Canada Soccer C Diploma or higher, or Canada Soccer
Children's Diploma are considered assets but are not required for every Academy assignment.
