About the Barrie Soccer Club Founded in 1968, the Barrie Soccer Club has been the heartbeat of our
local soccer community for over five decades. As a proud not-for-profit organization, we serve more than
3,500 members—from young dreamers just learning the game to seasoned players, coaches, and referees
shaping its future. Our mission is simple but powerful: to inspire a lifelong love of soccer through
dedicated development of coaches, players, and referees. We champion growth on every level—physical,

Position Summary:
• Support and actively promote Ontario Soccer Long-Term Player Development Plan (LTPD).
• Support the Technical Director in executing the Club’s technical vision by delivering development
programs that reflect BSC’s curriculum, coaching standards, and player pathway initiatives.
• Champion a culture of positivity, inclusivity, and player-focused growth across all tiers of
competition, ensuring a supportive and development-driven environment for athletes and
coaches alike
• Spearhead weekly training initiatives by designing and delivering development sessions for the
Development Pool, aligned with Barrie Soccer Club’s age-specific curriculum and attending
games. Emphasize comprehensive player growth—technical, tactical, physical, and mental—
across each phase of the Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) pathway, while fostering a
cohesive coaching culture through interactive workshops, curriculum evaluations, and hands-on
field demonstrations.
• Scout and support House League programming by facilitating player transitions between
recreational and development streams and identifying talent for continued progression.
• Collaborate with the Club’s Goalkeeping Coaches to enhance the structure, curriculum, and longterm development pathway for the goalkeepers.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches and club officials to enhance the quality and consistency of
programming, ensuring alignment with BSC’s technical standards, development goals, and playerfirst philosophy.
• Attend all Coach Education and Development Sessions hosted by Barrie Soccer Club, including
workshops, on-field training, and classroom seminars led by the Technical Director and guest
experts.

 Attend all club events as required, including tournaments, festivals, workshops, and community
outreach initiatives, to support player development and represent the club’s values both on and
off the field.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all players under your care by adhering to club policies,
maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment, and implementing best practices in injury
prevention, emergency response, and safeguarding
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the game, including technical skills, tactical awareness,
player development principles, and a clear understanding of Ontario Soccer’s coaching standards
and competitive land scape.
• Demonstrate a proven ability to thrive in a team environment, contributing positively to shared
goals through open communication, mutual respect, and a commitment to continuous
improvement.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the soccer environment in Huronia and Ontario, including
league structures, development pathways, and the standards set by Ontario Soccer and the
Huronia District Soccer Association (HDSA).
• Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills, enabling effective
collaboration with players, staff, and parents while maintaining organized, punctual, and
productive coaching environments.
• Must be legally residing in Canada and entitled to work in accordance with federal and provincial
employment regulations.

Qualifications:
• Minimum age-appropriate certification in FUNdamentals, Learn to Train, or Soccer for Life, with
active progress toward the Ontario Grassroots Diploma; possession of a Canada Soccer ‘C’
License is preferred.
