Commercial Director (Volunteer + Commission)

Location: Kelsall, Cheshire (Hybrid)
Hours: Flexible (Volunteer)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer / Chairman

Kelsall Football Club is one of England's fastest-growing grassroots football clubs.

Since reforming in 2023, the club has built a community of over 80,000 followers, generated more than 20 million views, secured national commercial partnerships and launched a behind-the-scenes documentary series following the journey of building a football club from the ground up.

We're building far more than a football team.

We're creating a sustainable football club with professional standards, ambitious commercial growth and a community at its heart.

As we enter the next stage of our journey, we're looking for an ambitious Commercial Director to lead and develop the club's commercial operation.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional volunteer role.

Working alongside the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, you'll take ownership of the club's commercial strategy and lead all revenue-generating activities across the football club.

You'll inherit an established commercial platform including national partnerships, sponsorship inventory, merchandise, hospitality opportunities, the newly launched 1895 Members Club, and one of the largest digital audiences in grassroots football.

Your role will be to strengthen existing partnerships, secure new commercial opportunities and build sustainable revenue streams that support the club's long-term ambitions.

As Kelsall FC continues to document its journey through our YouTube series and social media channels, the Commercial Director will also play an active role in telling the stories behind our partners.

We're looking for someone who is confident representing the club on camera, taking part in interviews, appearing within our documentary series and helping showcase the businesses that support our journey.

This is a unique opportunity to build a commercial department with genuine autonomy whilst becoming part of one of grassroots football's most exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the club's commercial strategy.
• Identify, negotiate and secure new sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
• Manage and grow relationships with existing commercial partners.
• Deliver sponsor activation plans and ensure all commercial benefits are fulfilled.
• Lead the growth of the 1895 Members Club.
• Develop new revenue streams including hospitality, advertising, events and merchandise.
• Work closely with the media team to maximise partner exposure through digital content.
• Build relationships with local, regional and national businesses.
• Represent the club at networking events, sponsor meetings and community functions.
• Produce regular commercial performance updates for the CEO and Board.
• Support the continued professional growth of Kelsall Football Club.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience within sales, sponsorship, commercial management or business development.
• Is passionate about building relationships and creating long-term partnerships.
• Thinks strategically whilst delivering measurable results.
• Is commercially driven and enjoys identifying new opportunities.
• Is an excellent communicator with strong presentation skills.
• Is confident networking with businesses and representing the club professionally.
• Is comfortable appearing on camera and becoming part of our documentary series and digital content.
• Enjoys telling stories, promoting businesses and helping partners maximise the value of working with Kelsall FC.
• Wants to help build something special and leave a lasting legacy.

Previous football experience is welcomed but not essential.

Commission

Whilst this is a volunteer leadership position, commission will be paid on all new commercial partnerships and sponsorship agreements personally secured, providing an opportunity to directly benefit from your success whilst helping grow the football club.

Full commission details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
