Armed Forces Community Coach

Wigan Athletic Community Trust is looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Armed Forces Community Coach to successfully engage with the Armed Forces Community and provide engaging and enriching health and wellbeing opportunities.

The successful candidate will have passion, empathy and an innovative outlook, to engage a range of ex-military personnel and Armed Forces partners to positively engage the Armed Forces communities in Wigan.

The Armed Forces Community Coach will have responsibility for the delivery of the Armed Forces projects, ensuring an engaging and interactive programme is developed to support the communities' health and wellbeing.

Salary: £26,000 (pro rata 15 hrs per week)

Type of contract: Fixed Term until March 2027

You will: 
• Be committed to delivering the Armed Forces projects, achieving all Key Performance Indicators linked to the project’s outcomes.
• Deliver an interactive Armed Forces project within the Armed Forces Community which supports members of ex-military, armed forces and their families to increase opportunities leading to better health and wellbeing outcomes.
• Develop a weekly timetable of ‘Physical and Wellbeing’ activities that will engage vulnerable adults in interventions that support improved wellbeing, social inclusion physical and mental health outcomes.
• Build good working relationships with local Armed Forces services at local and regional level
