💰 Salary: Up to £32,000

📅 Contract: Full-time, fixed until 31st May 2027 (with potential for extension)

We are looking for a Community Health Instructor who can hit the ground running—delivering engaging health sessions, building meaningful community connections, and expanding our reach across diverse communities in East London.


This role is at the heart of our mission to tackle health inequalities and improve access to wellbeing support. You will work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, supporting individuals to improve their physical health, mental wellbeing, and lifestyle choices in a way that is inclusive, accessible, and culturally aware.


🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

  • 🏃 Deliver inclusive, engaging health, fitness & wellbeing classes for diverse communities
  • 🤝 Build strong community networks and partnerships, particularly with underrepresented groups
  • 📈 Grow participation through outreach, engagement, and community-focused programme development
  • 💬 Provide 1:1 support, wellbeing planning & lifestyle guidance
  • 🧠 Support individuals to build confidence, resilience & long-term healthy habits
  • 🏟️ Lead health provision at The Foundry, ensuring it is welcoming and accessible to all
  • 🌍 Design and deliver culturally competent programmes that meet local community needs
  • 📊 Monitor impact, ensuring programmes are reaching and supporting a diverse range of participants
  • 👥 Work alongside health professionals, community groups, and partners to create inclusive referral pathways
  • 👨🏫 Support and mentor staff/volunteers, promoting an inclusive and respectful environment

Requirements

✔️ Experience delivering health, fitness or wellbeing programmes

✔️ Ability to engage and build trust with diverse communities

✔️ Confidence leading group sessions and community-based activities

✔️ Experience supporting individuals in 1:1 and group settings

✔️ Understanding of health inequalities, inclusion, and accessibility

✔️ Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

✔️ Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and drive engagement


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
  • Health, wellbeing, or fitness-related qualifications
  • Experience working in community, health, or grassroots settings
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive practice
