JOB SUMMARY The Academy Performance Coach will develop and implement strength and conditioning training for D.C. United’s academy teams in accordance with the academy’s curriculum, periodization, objectives, and values. They will work in conjunction with head coaches, goalkeeper coach, athletic trainer and other teams in the club to maximize the potential of each player, and the efficiency of each session. The Performance Coach will be training sessions, matches, and tournaments. They are also expected to test and improve each player’s physical qualities in relation their current playing level and what the next level will require. Constant, specific and accurate feedback to players/coaching staff will be necessary as is the tracking of specific, trackable data points. Position Summary: The Performance Coach is responsible for contributing to the design and leading the delivery of the daily practices implemented within the gym, supporting the conditioning approaches pitch side and within testing, data and monitoring strategies.
