Overview

Preston North End Football Club are looking for an experienced, professional cleaner to join the team on a part-time, permanent basis.

The role is based at the First Team Training Ground. The successful candidate will form part of a small team based in Euxton, Chorley. Your role will be to ensure that your areas of responsibility are cleaned within a set period and ready for use by staff and professional footballers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the football training ground and associated facilities.
  • Clean and maintain players’ and staff changing rooms, including showers, toilets, lockers, floors, benches and communal areas.
  • Clean treatment rooms, medical areas and physiotherapy spaces, following appropriate hygiene and infection-control procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness within the hydrotherapy pool area, including surrounding floors, changing areas, showers and associated facilities.
  • Clean and maintain canteen areas, including floors, surfaces, tables, chairs, staff areas and communal spaces.
  • Clean administration offices, including desks, floors, communal areas, meeting spaces and other office facilities.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in meeting rooms, corridors, reception areas, and communal spaces.
  • Clean and maintain toilets, and shower facilities, ensuring they are fully stocked with required consumables.
  • Carry out routine vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting andsanitising across all designated areas.
  • Empty waste and recycling bins regularly and dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
  • Clean glass, mirrors, doors, fixtures, fittings and other surfaces as required.
  • Respond promptly to spillages, accidents or areas requiring additional cleaning.
  • Carry out deep-cleaning duties as required, including during quieter periods, seasonal breaks and facility shutdowns.
  • Replenish cleaning materials and consumables, including toilet tissue, hand towels, soap and sanitising products.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and correctly, reporting any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Use cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, COSHH requirements and site procedures.
  • Ensure cleaning cupboards, equipment and supplies are kept clean, organised and secure.
  • Report any damage, maintenance issues, hazards or health and safety concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Work discreetly and professionally around players, coaches, medical staff, academy staff, visitors and senior management.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when working within sensitive areas of the training ground.
  • Follow all club policies and procedures relating to health and safety, safeguarding, hygiene, security and confidentiality.
  • Work flexibly as part of a team and, where required, assist colleagues to ensure the overall cleanliness and presentation of the training ground is maintained.

Location

You will be based at the Preston North End First Team Training Ground, Euxton Lane, Euxton, Chorley, PR7 6FA.

Working Hours

Your hours of work will be from 2pm to 7pm Monday to Friday. The minumum working hours per week will be 25.

On a regular basis, and in line with the players training schedule, you will be expevcted to work one day at the weekend and some bank holidays. (approx one weekend in a month). Advance notice will be given and will be shared on a rotational basis with one other team member.

Pay

£13.18 per hour depending on age.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of five years experience of working in a professional environment.
  • Previous experience of working with heavy machinery such as a floor machine and or a buffer is advantageous.
  • Experience of infection control.
  • Self-motivated and organised.
  • Trustworthiness and discretion is always required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
