About Flint Town United

Flint Town United Football Club is seeking an ambitious, highly motivated and experienced Head of Goalkeeping to join our football department and play a key role in the continued development of our First Team and Academy goalkeepers.

This is a senior position within the club, with responsibility for establishing and maintaining a consistent goalkeeping philosophy across the football pathway, from Academy level through to the First Team.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding goalkeeping coach with strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, capable of working effectively across all levels of the club.

The Role

As Head of Goalkeeping, you will oversee all goalkeeping activities across Flint Town United's First Team and Academy.

You will work closely with the First Team management, Academy staff and wider football department to ensure a clear, consistent and progressive approach to goalkeeper development throughout the club.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the club's goalkeeping programme across the First Team and Academy.
• Develop and implement a clear goalkeeping philosophy and methodology aligned with the club's overall footballing identity.
• Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of high-quality goalkeeping sessions.
• Oversee the development of goalkeepers across all Academy age groups.
• Work closely with First Team management to support the development and performance of First Team goalkeepers.
• Monitor and evaluate goalkeeper performance, development and individual progression.
• Establish individual development plans for goalkeepers.
• Support the identification and recruitment of goalkeeping talent.
• Ensure consistency in coaching practices, terminology and technical development throughout the Academy pathway.
• Mentor and support other goalkeeping coaches within the club.
• Work collaboratively with Academy coaches and First Team staff.
• Maintain appropriate records of player development and performance.
• Contribute to the club's player pathway, helping Academy goalkeepers progress towards First Team football.
• Attend relevant matches, training sessions, meetings and club activities as required.
• Promote a professional, positive and development-focused environment.
• Ensure all coaching activities are delivered in accordance with relevant FAW and safeguarding requirements.
• Contribute to the wider development and success of Flint Town United Football Club.

Essential Requirements

• UEFA/FAW A Licence in Goalkeeping (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Proven experience working as a goalkeeping coach within senior and/or Academy football.
• Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping principles and practices.
• Experience planning and delivering structured goalkeeping sessions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with players of different ages and abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary football environment.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to player development and continuous professional development.
• Understanding of safeguarding and best practice within football.

Desirable

• Previous experience working within a professional or semi-professional football environment.
• Experience working across both First Team and Academy football.
• FAW/UEFA coaching experience within the Welsh football pyramid.
• Experience developing goalkeepers into senior First Team football.
• Experience mentoring other goalkeeping coaches.
• Knowledge of performance analysis and modern goalkeeper analysis tools.
