Charlottesville Alliance Sports Club is seeking an energetic, organized, and experienced soccer professional to serve as its Recreation Soccer Director. The Recreation Soccer Director will oversee the club's recreational soccer programs, including Soccer Tots, Soccer Minis, Soccer Juniors, and Pre-Academy Soccer, while helping create a positive, developmentally appropriate experience for young players and their families. The Recreation Soccer Director will also participate in Academy Elite programming as part of the position.

This position plays an important role in the Alliance player-development pathway and will work closely with the Sporting Director to provide quality programming, support coaches and volunteers, communicate with families, and help transition players into Academy Elite and other appropriate Alliance programs. The Recreation Soccer Director reports directly to the Sporting Director, with oversight from the Executive Management Team.

•  Oversee the organization and delivery of Alliance recreational soccer programming.

•  Coordinate seasonal player groups, schedules, staffing, equipment, and weekly program operations.

•  Maintain a consistent on-field presence during recreation programming.

•  Participate in Academy Elite training and programming as part of the club's player-development pathway.

•  Recruit, organize, and support volunteer coaches and program staff, including public/private school events.

•  Assist coaches with session plans, curriculum, and age-appropriate player development.

•  Provide timely and professional communication to recreation families and serve as a primary point of contact for routine program questions and concerns.

•  Work with the Sporting Director to identify and support players progressing into Pre-Academy, Academy Elite, and other appropriate developmental opportunities.

•  Support player registration, retention, and continued growth of Alliance recreational programming.

•  Assist with seasonal planning and evaluation of recreation programs.

•  Maintain appropriate program records, participation information, and administrative documentation.

•  Help maintain a positive, organized, and professional environment consistent with Alliance standards and values.
 

Academy Elite Participation
The Recreation Soccer Director will participate in Academy Elite programming as part of the position, helping provide continuity between Recreation, Pre-Academy, Academy Elite, and the Alliance travel pathway. Academy Elite participation is a core responsibility of the Recreation Soccer Director role.
Additional Program Opportunities
Additional paid opportunities may be available through Alliance winter camps, summer camps, clinics, and other supplemental programs. These opportunities are separate from the Recreation Soccer Director's core responsibilities and will be determined based on program needs and assignments.

 

•  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; degree in Sports Management, Education, Business, Exercise Science, or a related field preferred.

•  Minimum of two years of youth soccer coaching, program administration, or related youth soccer experience.

•  Strong understanding of age-appropriate youth soccer development and experience working with young players and families.

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•  Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

•  Ability to lead, support, and communicate effectively with volunteer coaches.

•  Professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with club leadership.

•  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and/or Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive.

•  Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by seasonal programming.

•  Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to Alliance programming throughout the Charlottesville area.

•  Ability to successfully complete required background screening and SafeSport certification.
 

•  Previous experience with a youth soccer club or recreational soccer program.

•  U.S. Soccer Grassroots or higher coaching license.

•  Experience managing or supporting camps, clinics, or youth-development programs.

•  Familiarity with youth sports registration and scheduling platforms.
